Culinary Catering is an extension of The Culinary School, a culinary training program of the Food Bank of Delaware that trains disadvantaged adults for employment in the foodservice industry while feeding hungry Delawareans.
When you work with Culinary Catering, your reward is two-fold: honoring your guests or valued employees with wonderful food and service, while helping to change lives in our community. Culinary Catering is an entity of the Food Bank of Delaware, the largest emergency food provider in the state. Our catering revenue helps assist funding of The Culinary School, a job-skills program of the Food Bank of Delaware.
The Culinary School is a 14-week culinary training program that prepares low- income, disadvantaged adults for employment in the food industry. Students learn food preparation, technique and safety, as well as kitchen operations. They receive job placement, career coaching, mentoring, and the life skills which are necessary to succeed after graduation. Students have the opportunity to become ServSafe Certified, and the staff is dedicated to the success of each graduate. Not only does our catering business financially support our training program, but it also provides employment opportunities for our graduates. Culinary Catering does more than please the taste buds, it makes a difference in our community.
