Individuals and organizations who help feed children through the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) play a critical role in our efforts to alleviate summer hunger. The program was created in 1975 to ensure that low-income children continue to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session during summer vacation.
SFSP is a federally-funded program operated nationally by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and administered in Delaware by the Department of Education. There is a great need for the SFSP, particularly in those areas of the state where many children are eligible for free or reduced-price school meals.
How can you participate in the SFSP?
