Delaware Food Works, an initiative of the Food Bank of Delaware, offers the Culinary Mentorship Program to entrepreneurs to assist them in developing and growing their own small business in the food industry. Entrepreneurs accepted into the program will receive a total of 110 hours of technical assistance and training from a chef instructor over a 6 month period (approximately 4 hours per week). They also will have access to food carts and a licensed commercial kitchen space (depending on availability).

Entrepreneurs who are interested in participating in the program should have the following to be successful in the program:

• A vision and a written business plan for their concept
• A basic understanding of the financial aspect of running a business
• Must possess and display a commitment to the business
• Willingness to take instruction and feedback

Once the completed application and attachments are submitted, the entrepreneur will be contacted to schedule an interview at the Food Bank of Delaware’s kitchen at 14 Garfield Way, Newark, DE  19713.
