February Employee of the Month: Jessi Dominguez
February 18, 2026
If you’ve joined us for one of our community benefits in the past six months, you’ve felt it—the energy, the ease, the thoughtful pacing, the beautiful details that make each event feel both meaningful and fun. What you don’t see is the careful orchestration behind the scenes, the countless moving parts that come together seamlessly. And that’s exactly the point.
Because when our guests can simply enjoy the evening—and when the Food Bank of Delaware can feel confident that every fundraiser will be both joyful and successful—we have Jessi Dominguez to thank.
We’re thrilled to celebrate Jessi as our February 2026 Employee of the Month!
Though she joined the Food Bank just last June, Jessi has already made a remarkable impact. In only a few short months, she has brought confidence, skill, and a natural sense of teamwork to her role as Special Events Manager. Her ability to step in, take initiative, and elevate every event she touches has not gone unnoticed.
A proud Delaware native, Jessi has long been familiar with the Food Bank’s work and its importance in our community. Before joining our team, she built a successful career as a catering and event manager. But she was looking for something more—an organization grounded in collaboration and community impact. After first applying for a volunteer coordinator role and getting a glimpse into our culture, she kept her eye on opportunities.
“I kept looking at the job postings, and when this came up, I applied,” she shared. “I love it here—how collaborative all the departments are.”
Jessi’s love for Delaware runs deep. Born and raised here, she treasures not only the state itself but also its proximity to vibrant arts and cultural destinations. “I love Delaware,” she said. “I love having some great art places really close. I don’t plan to leave.”
In her role, Jessi’s work touches nearly every corner of the organization. From planning and executing major fundraising events like The Farmer & The Chef to coordinating with community partners and collaborating with staff across our Newark and Milford locations, she ensures that every event supports our neighbors in need—while creating an exceptional experience for donors and guests alike.
In announcing Jessi’s recognition, Vice President of Human Resources Julie Reichlin praised the many ways her dedication strengthens our mission:
“Jessi has done a spectacular job in her role as our Special Events Manager. She consistently demonstrates professionalism, initiative, and a deep commitment to the mission of the Food Bank of Delaware. Her impact on this past holiday season was particularly noteworthy—she went above and beyond to ensure our donors felt genuinely valued and appreciated, strengthening relationships that are critical to our success.
“She played a key role in elevating our holiday food drives by enhancing both the overall experience and execution, all while maintaining exceptional organization, attention to detail, and responsiveness. Jessi steps in wherever help is needed and brings a consistently positive, cheerful demeanor to her work, even during fast-paced, high-pressure periods. Her attitude is contagious and contributes meaningfully to team morale and our workplace culture. Jessi’s dedication, flexibility, and genuine enthusiasm do not go unnoticed. She is highly deserving of this recognition.”
As we celebrate Jessi’s achievements, we’re also looking ahead to an exciting season of events, including:
- Mission in Motion – Formerly Forks on the Farm, this fall event will feature a farm-to-table gourmet dinner prepared by our culinary team while highlighting our farm and food distribution systems.
- Sussex County Golf Tournament – A brand-new event teeing off April 7 at Rehoboth Beach Country Club.
With Jessi helping lead the way, we know these events—and many more to come—will continue to shine.
Congratulations, Jessi. Thank you for the heart, talent, and enthusiasm you bring to the Food Bank of Delaware every single day. We’re so lucky to have you on our team.
