First-ever Forks on the Farm dinner a success
November 18, 2021
The first-ever Forks on the Farm dinner was held on the Food Bank Farm on November 12 under a moonlit sky.
After a morning filled with rain, the skies cleared for a beautiful farm-side evening. The Food Bank farm farm was transformed into a dreamy, rustic venue where guests enjoyed a candlelit alfresco dinner prepared by students from The Culinary School. The students cooked up a farm-to-fork menu featuring fresh vegetables from the Food Bank farm. Guests enjoyed carved turkey, pumpkin soup, a grain bowl with root vegetables and farro, pulled pork and Argentina beet sliders, farm-fresh salads and mini seasonal pies.
Midnight Oil Brewing Company poured seasonal beers, while Donati Family Vineyard provided the wine. The team from Breakthru Beverage was in attendance mixing up seasonal cocktails including spiked warm apple cider.
Cozy fire pits kept attendees warm, while guitarist Jack Marshall played acoustic classics.
More than $27,000 were raised for hunger-relief programming at the Food Bank of Delaware.
