Want to improve your culinary skills and have fun too?

Join Food Bank of Delaware’s Executive Chef Tim Hunter at both Food Bank sites for community cooking demonstrations this fall! In each two-hour class, students will learn how to prepare meals, plus each session includes sampling opportunities and take-home food items in addition to the menu’s recipes.

This fall’s classes are: Date Night, a three-course meal for two held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11 in Milford and again on Thursday, Oct. 18 in Newark.

Attendees will learn tips and techniques to prepare a gourmet meal at home – Chef Tim will demonstrate an appetizer, entrée and dessert.

In November, from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1 in Milford and Thursday, Nov. 8 in Newark, Chef Tim’s class will help ensure a successful Thanksgiving dinner. During this two-hour demo, attendees will learn how to season a turkey and prepare all of the fixings including homemade mashed potatoes, whipped sweet potatoes and a pumpkin cheesecake!

The classes are held at the Food Bank of Delaware, Milford, 1040 Mattlind Way, and at the Food Bank of Delaware, 14 Garfield Way, Newark.

The cost is $35 per person, with a 20 student class limit.

Light refreshments will be available during class.
