L.O.G.I.C. alumnus spotlight: Nyaire Lolly

February 28, 2022

Nyaire Lolly graduated from the Food Bank of Delaware’s L.O.G.I.C. (Logistics, Operations, General Warehousing and Inventory Control) program in December 2021.

Under the guidance of Operations Instructor Joe Cunha, Nyaire spent 11 weeks learning the ins and outs of this growing industry. From how to operate a fork lift to OSHA-10 certification, Nyaire was well prepared to start a new career.

Since graduation, he’s been working at Sobieski, a Delaware-based plumbing and HVAC company. In his role, Nyaire is responsible for loading trucks and making deliveries.

“Joe helped me get the warehouse job,” he points out.

Nyaire credits L.O.G.I.C. for “opening his eyes to a bunch of aspects of the industry.” For him, the opportunities to learn to use a pallet jack and warehouse safety were most important.

“Nyaire always had a positive attitude and was more than willing to do whatever was needed; he was certainly not afraid to put in the work,” says Cunha. “He was one of my strongest students from the very beginning.”

Nyaire enjoys his days at Sobieski. “I like that I am on the road every day,” he explained. “I’m busy every day.”

Looking ahead to the future, Nyaire hopes to grow in his role at Sobieski and obtain his Commercial Driver’s License.

The next training class of L.O.G.I.C. starts March 14. “It’s a good learning experience to get your certification and get your first foot into the door into a new job,” Nyaire advises.
