L.O.G.I.C. Student Spotlight: Alberto

October 7, 2024

Alberto decided to join the L.O.G.I.C. Program to gain hands-on experience in warehousing. “This program is a foundation for me. You can start at this level and then go up, gaining experience,” he explains. He was drawn to the program because it offered clear direction for career growth.

Alberto appreciates the camaraderie with classmates and the supportive instructors. “The instructors are great. They really work with you, and they don’t pressure us. We get to move at our own pace, and that makes us feel comfortable,” he shares. This positive learning environment has been one of his favorite aspects of the program.

With a background in dancing and performing arts, Alberto’s career goal is to move into upper management, where he can combine his skills in fundraising and communication with his love for public speaking. He explains: “I can go out and present whatever we have to offer. I’m used to presenting and performing, so if you have a good product or service, I can sell it”.

In five years, Alberto sees himself in a management role and returning to his passion for dance, particularly ballroom dancing. “I’ll probably be in management by then, and I’ll also be back to teaching dance. It’s about finding stability and growing in both fields,” he reflects.

When asked for advice for those considering the program, he says, “Jump in. It’s an opportunity, whichever way you look at it.”Alberto says that to him the Food Bank represents a place of giving, where people can find the support they need to advance in their careers and lives.
