Delicious and nourishing: Let the Food Bank help you and your neighbors

Thanks to the Delaware Food Works workforce development initiative, did you know that the Food Bank of Delaware offers three tasty ways to support our mission to eradicate food insecurity in the state?

Our Holiday Cookie Sale: Support our Delaware Food Works Culinary students with our holiday cookie sale! Cookie platters include two dozen assorted chocolate chip, peanut butter, snickerdoodle and oatmeal raisin cookies – all for $24! Cookie pick up will be available at the Newark farm stand (222 Lake Drive) or the Milford branch (1040 Mattlind Way) on Monday, Dec. 21 and Tuesday, Dec. 22.Proceeds benefit student scholarships to The Culinary School! Our Winter 2021 CSA: Nourish your family with fresh produce grown on-site this winter at the Food Bank. Boxes will be packed each week. Distribution begins in January, and items to look forward to:

Crops being grown on-site at the Food Bank this winter (pictured right):

    • Lettuce, loose salad blends and head lettuce
    • Kale, assorted varieties
    • Arugula
    • Asian greens, Tat-soi, Pac-choi, Mizuna, etc.
    • Swiss Chard
    • Spinach
    • Carrots
    • Radishes
    • Beets
    • Micro-Greens
    • Turnips
    • Cabbage
    • Bok Choy

Additional items from local farms:

    • Potatoes
    • Garlic
    • Winter Squash
    • Onions

We have three designated pick-up locations:

Newark Food Bank (farm stand – 222 Lake Drive)
Thursday or Friday from 1 – 6 p.m. Additional items, like eggs from Powers Farm, homemade soups and desserts, ice cream from Woodside Farm Creamery, local cheese from Chesapeake Gold Farm, jams, etc., will be available at the farm stand for purchase!

Milford Food Bank (enter through visitor/The Culinary School entrance – 1040 Mattlind Way)
Thursday or Friday from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Grace Church (900 Washington Street, Wilmington)
Thursday from 5 – 7:00 p.m.

Cost:
$200 for 10 weeks (5-7 items each week)

Our weekly soup meal:
Warm up with a hearty soup meal this winter! We’re offering two quarts of soup plus bread for $15! A new soup will be offered each week. Your soup dinner will come packaged  with reheating instructions.

Please be sure to place your order for the week by 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

Pick up is available on Thursday or Friday:

Pick up from 1p.m. – 5:30 p.m. OR

Milford Branch
1040 Mattlind Way, Milford, DE  19963 – pick up in the visitor/Culinary School entrance
Pick up from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m
