Spirit of Volunteerism Award: Bank of America
May 30, 2017
Last month we hosted our annual dinner and honored nine supporters who have gone above and beyond to support our Creating a Bold Future capital campaign! Over the next several weeks, we will highlight each of our honorees.
Bank of America has made a commitment as an organization to fight hunger on all fronts in Delaware through donations of funds, food and time. The Food Bank of Delaware can always count on the Bank of America team to step up when needed.
In the past year, Bank of America associates have visited 894 times for a total of 2,454 hours of time donated.
With their dedication to volunteerism, it was only fitting that Bank of America would make an early commitment to support the future volunteer room at 222 Lake Drive. The Bank of America Volunteer Room will be a reality thanks to a $300,000 pledge.
In addition to Bank of America’s commitment to volunteerism, the organization also hosts food drives throughout the year, donated $656,000 over the past five years, including the Bank of America mobile pantry truck, and serves as an important advocate.
Volunteers are truly the heart and soul of the Food Bank of Delaware. We could not meet the food needs of the 114,000+ food insecure Delawareans without their commitment. Bank of America embodies the spirit of volunteerism at the Food Bank of Delaware.
Thank you, Bank of America, for helping us alleviate hunger!
