Volunteer Spotlight: Lord Baltimore Lions Club

June 2, 2021

Thank you to the Lord Baltimore Lions Club members who have faithfully volunteered once a month at the Food Bank of Delaware in Milford for the past five years.

Just recently, the club committed to twice monthly volunteer shifts, says the club’s first vice president John Monahan. Although the club represents Ocean View, Dagsboro, Frankford, Millville and Bethany Beach residents, typically 6-9 members drive to Milford to help pack and sort donated food. They frequently sponsor food drives as well, including one at Mariner’s Bethel Church.

The Lions Club – an international service organization – focuses on vision, diabetes, youth and childhood cancer, the environment, and education.

“This fits with our missions: diabetes impacts vision, and hunger can impact diabetes. We hope to continue. This group just works,” said Monahan.
